The Purchasing Assistant is responsible for supporting the purchasing department in tasks as needed. The position requires the Purchasing Assistant to insure on time deliveries and inform buyers of potential gaps in vendor performance. The Purchasing Assistant also supports the department with data base accuracy projects as required.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience.
High school Diploma or GED from an accredited school.
One (1) year of Industry experience in a direct or cross functional capacity.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Effective oral written communications skills.
Strong customer service, vendor relations and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated, energetic, and able to perform with minimal supervision.
Ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Operates standard office equipment efficiently.
Intermediate level in Microsoft Office Suite with demonstrated proficiency in Excel (Able to work with pivot tables, use lookup formulas, etc.).
ERP System Experience.
English (verbal, reading, writing).
One year Purchasing Experience in a manufacturing environment.
