Electronics Engineering Team Lead (Design & Methodology)
Location: Modiin, Israel
Role Summary
Steerlinq is looking for a methodical, process-oriented Electronics Engineering Team Lead to
join our multidisciplinary R&D team. This is a pivotal role that combines high-level hands-on
design with the responsibility of shaping our engineering lifecycle.
You will lead the development of advanced control and safety systems for heavy autonomous
vehicles (Oshkosh 8x8, Aurora 950), ensuring that our cutting-edge technology is backed by
rigorous documentation, traceability, and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) standards. Your goal
is to ensure that every circuit driving our 20-ton platforms is consistent, validated, and
production-ready.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Mentoring: Lead and mentor a team of electronics engineers and
technicians, instilling structured design methods and fostering a culture of peer review and
excellence.
Full Lifecycle Design: Lead the complete electronic design cycle—from requirements and
concept to schematic, simulation, multi-layer PCB design (Altium), bring-up, and testing.
Engineering Methodology: Implement and manage formal design processes, including
Requirement Management, PDR/CDR (Design Reviews), FMEA, and V&V (Verification &
Validation).
System Integration: Collaborate with software, mechanical, and system teams to maintain
design traceability. Ensure seamless integration between the HLC (High-Level) and LLC (Low
Level) units.
Configuration Control: Establish and maintain strict configuration control for design files,
BOMs, and revisions.
Ruggedization & Standards: Drive compliance with MIL-STD-461 (EMC), MIL-STD-810
(Environmental), and MIL-STD-1275 (Power), ensuring the systems thrive in harsh amphibious
and off-road environments.
Production Readiness: Work closely with production engineers to ensure manufacturability,
serviceability, and future large-scale scalability.
