•; Design, analyze, and optimize DC-DC power converters including isolated and non-isolated topologies, POL regulators, and high-efficiency converters for LEO environments.
• Develop spacecraft power architectures, including regulated/unregulated power buses, energy storage interfaces, solar array power conditioning, and load distribution strategies.
• Perform trade studies for converter topologies (buck, boost, flyback, LLC, forward, synchronous rectification, etc.) considering radiation, thermal constraints, mass, and efficiency.
Power Distribution Network (PDN) Development
• Architect, model, and validate spacecraft PDN from primary power bus to end-loads; perform impedance, stability, and noise analysis.
• Perform simulation and worst-case analysis using SPICE-based tools, PDN analysis software, and hardware characterization.
Solar Array Power Conditioning & MPPT
• Design and implement MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) algorithms and hardware for solar array regulators (SARs).
• Integrate MPPT hardware with spacecraft solar arrays to maximize power harvesting under temperature, illumination, and degradation variations.
Battery & Energy Storage Systems
• Design battery management systems (BMS) for Li-Ion/Li-Polymer cells used in LEO missions, including charge control, protection circuitry, cell balancing, and telemetry integration.
• Develop and test battery charge regulation (BCR) and power storage units with focus on cycle life, thermal management, and safe-operating-area constraints.
Radiation, Reliability & Space Qualification
• Ensure designs meet radiation tolerance (TID, SEE), derating, and reliability requirements for LEO missions.
• Select and qualify radiation-tolerant components; perform FMECA, WCCA, thermal analysis, and reliability modeling.
Testing & Verification
• Create hardware prototypes, perform bench testing, validation, fault testing, and environmental testing (TVAC, vibration, thermal cycling).
• Develop test plans and support power subsystem verification during spacecraft integration.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Collaborate with systems, mechanical, thermal, ASIC, and flight software engineers to deliver fully integrated spacecraft power subsystems.
• Support root-cause analysis, anomaly resolution, and continuous design improvement.

דרישות התפקיד

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (focus on Power Electronics preferred).
• 7–10+ years of experience in power converter design (e.g., buck/boost, flyback, LLC, bridge converters).
• Experience with PDN design, MPPT, battery systems, and spacecraft or high-reliability electronics.
• Strong proficiency in SPICE simulations, PDN/RF modeling, and schematic/PCB design tools.
• Understanding of radiation effects, derating, and space-grade component selection.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with LEO spacecraft, satellites, aerospace power systems, CubeSat/SmallSat architecture.
• Knowledge of digital control loops, PWM controllers, FPGA-based control, and telemetry interfaces (I²C, SPI, CAN, SpaceWire).
