About the role:
We are looking for a Junior Bookkeeper and Payroll Specialist to take full ownership of our day-to-day financial operations and payroll for our Israel-based team. In this role, you will manage full-cycle bookkeeping and oversee the end-to-end monthly payroll process with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and accountability.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will ensure compliance with Israeli labor laws and tax regulations, support month-end and year-end closing processes, and assist with audit preparation. This is a hands-on role suited for a detail-oriented, proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable working across multiple financial systems.
Responsibilities:
Own full-cycle bookkeeping activities through the trial balance stage
Manage the end-to-end monthly payroll process for Israel-based employees
Ensure full compliance with Israeli tax regulations, including VAT, income tax, and withholding tax
Prepare and submit statutory payroll reports, including Forms 102 and 126
Maintain accurate, well-organized financial records and supporting documentation
Support month-end and year-end closing processes
Assist with audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors.
Work with financial systems, including NetSuite, Michpal, and related tools
Proactively identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency across finance operations
AI Proficiency & Tech-Forward Mindset: Ability to leverage AI tools to optimize financial workflows, automate data analysis, and improve the speed and accuracy of reporting.
2–3+ years of experience in bookkeeping and payroll
Certified Bookkeeper (Type 2 or 3) and Certified Payroll Clerk
Proven experience with full-cycle bookkeeping through trial balance and month-end close
Strong knowledge of Israeli payroll, labor laws, and tax reporting requirements
Hands-on experience with NetSuite, Michpal, and Excel (or similar systems)
Experience in a high-tech company or CPA firm — an advantage
Fluent in Hebrew and high-level English (written and spoken)
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines
